Abstract: Notes that despite their rigorous training, some child specialists and psychiatrists have difficulty communicating verbally with the child patient. The present article focuses on the use of paraverbal techniques (e.g., movement, improvisation, music) in the supervision of new child psychiatrists. These techniques are effective in determining problems in the doctor-patient relationship. (13 ref)
