Music in Combunation with Work

Abstract: Several clinical tests were carried out to examine the use of music during the performance of physical and mental tasks. Listening to music while performing physical tasks results in a more economic functioning of the circulatory system. The psychological effects of music indicate a reduction in monotony and a positive influence on fatigue during physical exertion. Experience of music during mental activity showed that the effect of listening to music while engaged in mental work can be to stimulate, activate and increase performance, or to impair and distract. The possibility of using music for industrial purposes is discussed, and the problematic question of whether music at work can be justified from the point of view of industrial medicine is analysed.
