Precis of Presentation of Music Therapy in a Penal Setting

Abstract: This paper forms part of an unpresented proposal to the Queensland Government. Reasons for establishing a Music Therapy Probgram were: 1) To Utilise Skills Of Prisoners 2) To develop self-generating individual activity, 3) To develop group-oriented Activities. 4) To learn process stimulation 5) To make use of individual responses to music in achievement, in fulfilling emotional needs and in self-discipline 6) To enhance the environment atmosphere through music, benefitting both prisoner and staff.
