Music Therapy programmes in a Head Injury Unit

Abstract: This paper describes music therapy practice in a rehabilitation unit for mainly youg people with severe brain damage from accidents or as a result of illness. The music therapy program aims to provide a millieu in which the following aspects of treatment may be furthered: Physical elements, Disinhibition, Concentration span, Authority discrimination, general interest and interest in music apart from current pop music.
