Abstract: Acupuncture is not an alternative to basic physiotherapy of cerebral motor disturbances of infants. lt may be used from school-age onward as a supplementary trial measure and/or as a preparatory treatment for physiotherapy in cases where regular and systematic physiotherapy has failed. No rash and exaggerated expectations should, however, be evoked in parents and patients. The proceeding suggested must not result in neglecting physiotherapy.
