Music composition: A psychological view |
Journal/Book: Bulletin of the Menninger Clinic. 1981; 45: 62-64.
Abstract: In order to stimulate thinking about music composition as a creative process, the author subjectively explores how the critical observing function of the psychiatrist's ego views the creating composer. The compositional process provides a model of how a person learns to cope with emotionally charged material from the depths of his/her personality by developing it into socially and personally useful works.
