[Creativity and age in the arts and sciences (author's transl)]

Abstract: Studies into the relations between aging and creativity are reported. After a brief review of statistics on works of medical scientists, the author deals with the age-dependent creativity of composers and, more specifically, symphonists. Using the method of differential analysis of works, he then analyzes and discusses the composing activities of Beethoven, Brahms, and Bruckner.
