The current discussion of the definition of illness

Abstract: The concepts of disease and health imply an adequate concept of the human individuality and of the body. The concept of individuality originated in the greek philosophy and was further developed by AUGUSTINUS, KANT and FICHTE. The self-determination and dignity of man are essential parts of this concept. The theory of the dynamis of ARISTOTELES was carried on to the concept of development. Only the theory of the dynamis and the concept of development allow us to understand disease as a crisis. Passing through a crisis may lead to the realisation of new possibilities. Music therapy has to take issue with these basic questions.
