Abstract: Important steps have been made in the development of music therapy courses and in consolidating of research and practice of music therapy and the professional status of a music therapist. The aim of the quarterly is, to describe and further work done in already established methods of music therapy - at the same time it will encourage the discovery of "new lands" of music therapy. The Musiktherapeutische Umschau intends to report on such topics as "team work", "order for treatment" by the patient, "holistic tendencies in research and practice", "music therapy courses" and different areas of work in music therapy.
