Abstract: Glutaraldehyde-stabilized human group B erythrocytes were used in thepurification of Viscum album lectin. To do this, column affinitychromatography in modified Amicon ultrafiltration cells was carried outin batch processing mode. In every case galactose was used as thespecific sugar during elution. Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis showedthat there were no impurities in the lectin so obtained. Affinitychromatography in Amicon ultrafiltration cells proved to be veryeconomical.
