Abstract: The musical metaphor technique in therapy is described as a blend of 5 communication patterns: music, analogical marking, linguistic patterns, metaphor, and visualization. It is recommended as a powerful method for gaining access to the nondominant hemisphere of the brain and conveying messages to it. It was found effective with 12 clients--athletes, students, and others. (6 ref)
