Musical forms of logotherapy in child brain paralysis

Abstract: Traditional methods of speech rehabilitation have little effectiveness in children with brain damage. The relaxing effect of music on the psychomotor sphere, its specific influence on the CNS, its positive effect on regulation of muscular tension throughout the body, and evidence of selective musical abilities in children with brain paralysis recommend the use of musical forms of logotherapy with such children. Musical forms of speech exercises have been employed successfully with children with various forms of brain damage and appear to be more effective than nonmusical exercises, independent of age, sex, form of paralysis, form of deterioration of motor abilities, or degree of deterioration of mental development.
