Abstract: This study investigated the use of the motorvator, an instrument designed to improve rhythmic coordination. Subjects were 10 children diagnosed as learning disabled. It was hypothesized that a 5-week training period using the Motorvator and the accompanying booklet would result in significant improvement in gross motor coordination, visual perception, and IQ scores as measured by the Purdue Perceptual Motor Survey, The Developmental Test of Visual-Motor Integration, and the Slosson Intelligence Test. Results of the pre and posttests data from the Sign Test/Binomial Test indicated significant improvement of the gross motor and IQ scores for the experimental group. No significant gain was reported for the control group on any measure.
