Die Verwendung von Ferritinkonjugaten eines Lektins der Mistel zur elektronenmikroskopischen Lokalisation von Zelloberflächenrezeptoren

Abstract: Ferritin conjugates of a lectin from mistletoe (Viscum album L.) wereused for the electron-microscopic demonstration of carbohydratereceptors on the cell surface of human erythrocytes and murine tumorcells. Human A1 erythrocytes showed only a slight focal binding offerritin. Cells of the mouse ascites tumor strain L 1210 were labelledvery tightly on their surface and incorporate the ferritin bypinocytosis. Furthermore they showed cytotoxic changes in theirultrastructure. In the presence of galactose the labelling on thesurface, the incorporation of the conjugate within the cell as well asthe cytotoxicity were inhibited. Author.
