Marionette making and self-awareness |
Journal/Book: American Journal of Art Therapy. 1977; 16: 51-53.
Abstract: Describes a project in which learning-disabled children made marionettes out of clay, first by identifying body parts and how they moved, then by making patterns of the entire body, and finally by constructing each body part and accessory out of clay. Differences between the puppets made by older and younger children are noted, and how the children reacted to and learned from their creations is described.
