Abstract: A concern foremost in the minds of music therapists today is related to expanding the job market. One approach to creative leverage with this problem is through the use of "contractual arrangement" by which services of the music therapist are purchased by one contracting agency from another central agency. There are many advantages, as well as some disadvantages which relate to each of the three parites involved (music therapist and the two agencies). The purchase of service concept is however, a viable plan which can be utilized by almost any agency to provide music therapy services where funds for full-time staff are presently unavailable.
