Abstract: With silymarin an improvement in certain cases of fatty liver, chronic-persistent hepatitis and cirrhosis was ascertained. Our results correspond in principle to those of Wilhelm, Heusghem and Fintelmann. It would be desirable to continue the investigation with a greater number of patients - possibly in the form of a doubleblind study - particularly in cases of chronic-persistent hepatitis.lt must be emphasized that neither dermatological, haematological nor gastro-enterological side-effects were observed.
