Abstract: Studied the effectiveness of music as a functional reinforcer in a comprehensive treatment program which might be generalized to other environments. The use of music to increase imitative behavior of 4 retarded 9-13 yr olds was evaluated. The treatment effects were substantial and in the expected direction for virtually all imitative tasks.
