Abstract: Two groups of 10 patients each, were selected for evaluation of pain relief by acupuncture. In the first group, steroid injection was given to one knee and acupuncture treatment was given for the other knee. In the second group, steroid injection was used on one knee and placebo acupuncture was applied to the other knee. The results indicated that acupuncture treatment was effective in relieving pain but had no anti-inflammatory effect.
