Inhibitory Effects of a Protein Complex from Viscum album on Fibroblasts anf Hela Cells

Abstract: In this paper methodological aspects of controlled clinical trials in general and of mistletoe therapy for cancer in particular are treated. It containes a detailed discussion of if and how the patient's quality of life can be observed and how doubleblindnes, individuality of therapy and relevance to practice can be reached in the trials. Problems and contradictions which thereby arise are discussed. Publications often report increases in life expectancy by mistletoe applications; causes are listed, which may lead to overestimations or to underestimations of this effect.
