Sleep as a conditioned response

Abstract: UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA Abstract A sleep response was conditioned in dogs using morphine or pentobarbital as the UCS. The effect of morphine on rat EEG and behavior was also studied. Data indicated that in dogs morphine was the more powerful UCS and that in rats morphine produced catatonia rather than sleep. ___MH
