Journal/Book: Circulation Research Vol. XI 1962. 1962;
Abstract: From the Cardiopulmonary Physiology Research Laboratory Mt. Alto Veterans Administration Hospital Washington D. C.; Department of Medicine Georgetown University Medical School Washington D. C.; and the Section an Clinical Biophysics Cardiology Branch National Heart Instituts National Institutes of Health Bethesda Maryland. Supported by U. S. Public Health Service Grant. Dr. Sachs is a Fellow of the American Thoracic Society Summary The radius of the pulmonary arteries and of the descending thoracic aorta in man was measured by angiographic techniques. Simultaneously with angiocardiography pressure measurements were carried out permitting calculation of radius-pressure (R/P) relationships. The results obtained by this method are similar to those obtained by other methods in which the vessel radius was measured more directly. . . .
