Zusammenfassung Die hohe Kontaktdichte und Prävalenz von Menschen mit Alkoholproblemen in Allgemeinarztpraxen eröffnet der medizinischen Primärversorgung günstige Voraussetzungen für eine effektive Frühdiagnostik und -behandlung alkoholbedingter Störungen. Aber auch der medikamentengestützten ambulanten Entwöhnungsbehandlung wird heute entsprechend internationalen Erfahrungen gegenüber der bisher überwiegend stationär und medikamentenfrei ausgerichteten Entwöhnungstherapie Alkoholabhängiger zunehmende Beachtung geschenkt. Abstract New approaches in the treatment of alcoholism: outpatient withdrawal treatment with possible pharmacotherapeutic adjuncts: The close contact and high prevalence among people with alcohol problems in general practitioners' practices provide primary medical care with favourable conditions for effective early diagnosis and treatment of alcoholic disorders. However in view of international expenence outpatient withdrawal therapy supported by medicamentous treatment is receiving increasing attention over traditional mainly inpatient withdrawal treatment for alcoholics without medication.
