Indexing, full text research, and digital text dossiers - a test of document analysis methods in the press archive of the Stuttgarter Zeitung

Abstract: The paper presents results of a study, which evaluates different methods of user-oriented document analysis in the digital full text archive of the Stuttgarter Zeitung. The empirical part of the thesis examines the practicability of relying on full text retrieval, instead of researching with the help of intellectually assigned subject headings. The second part of the thesis discusses the possibility of using digital text dossiers (DTD) as a means of subject analysis in the digital press archive of the Stuttgarter Zeitung.
