Abstract: Dr phil. Petra Warschburger Zentrum für Rehabilitationsforschung Bremen Zusammenfassung: Die Lebensqualität spielt eine immer stärkere Rolle bei der Bewertung von Behandlungsmaßnahmen. Zur Zeit liegen verschiedene Meßinstrumente zur Erhebung der Lebensqualität bei Kindern und Jugendlichen mit Asthma vor. Der "Paediatric Asthma Quality of Life Questionnaire (PAQL)" wurde von der Arbeitsgruppe um Juniper in Kanada entwickelt und bereits ins Deutsche übersetzt. Das Instrument ist einsetzbar als Fragebogen oder Interview für Kinder und Jugendliche zwischen 7 und 17 Jahren. Der PAQL enthält 23 Items in drei Bereichen: Aktivitätseinschänkung Symptome und emotionale Funktionalität. Empirische Ergebnisse deuten darauf hin daß der PAQL reliabel und veränderungssensitiv ist. Probleme die mit der Anwendung verbunden sind werden diskutiert. Measuring the Quality of Life in Children and Adolescents with Asthma: The Paediatric Quality of Life Questionnaire: Quality of life becomes more and more important in evaluating the effects of treatments. At the moment different questionnaires to measure quality of life in children and adolescents with asthma are available. The Paediatric Asthma Quality of Life Questionnaire (PAQL) was developed by Juniper and co-workers in Canada and has already been translated into German. It is a self- or interviewer-administered instrument for children and adolescents between age 7 and 17. The PAQL contains 23 items in three domains: activity limitation symptoms and emotional function. The empirical results suggest that the PAQL is reliable and sensitive to clinical change.
