Abstract: The corporeal quality of music provides an important way of expressing presymbolic and preverbal ways of experience which are important for human beings from the first days in life. These primitive ways of experience are described according to the concepts of psychoanalytically oriented neonatologists and the psychoanalytic author THOMAS OGDEN. It is argued that graphic notation to catch this corporeal quality of music. Finally, the author gives an example of graphic notation and develops potential perspectives for qualitative research in music therapy.
