Aromatherapy, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and assessment of the chemical risk

Abstract: Essential oils contain substances shich may be detrimental to health. As such, they are subject to two sets of regulations: Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and Chemical Hazard Information and Packaging (CHIP). This paper is concerned with the COSHH framework for the ssessment and control of chemical risk. An approach is outlined for applying COSHH to the practice of aromatherapy.
