Abstract: The article describes integrative music therapy group work with residents of anold people's home. The degree of mental and physical limitations in the group, whose members come from nursing and gerontopsychiatric wards, varies greatly. The main limitation in the group is senile dementia. The article describes how practical musical experience with the old people makes it possible to work with them in such a way that, in spite of their mental and physical limitations, they are enabled to have basic social and emotional experiences again.
