Abstract: The different directions among the homoeopaths are presented with the coue of the history of the German homoeopathic hospitals. It becomes clear that since the 19th century the true homoeopathy of Hahnemann which is in its pure form free of ideologies is overweighted, distorted and diluted both by religious ideas. Within the field of tension of the different ideologies there is also a tension between homoeopathic physicians and lay practicioners.
