Abstract: Heather plants (Ericaceen) characterize sceneries. Amoung them there are several medically interesting plants like bearberry (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi), blueberry (Vaccinium myrtillus), marsh tea (Ledum palustre), mountain laurel (Kalmia latifolia) and rhododendron kinds, which are used successfully in phytotherapy and homeopathy in the case of diseases of the urinary tract, rheumatic complaints and skin diseases.
