Spiritual holidays - Excursions for self-discovery

Abstract: Since the late seventies a form of holiday making has developed as an extension of the psychoboom which obviously meets the needs of an increasingly large number of people: self-experience holidays on special trips or in faraway places. Thies tendency, characterised as ''esoteric holicays'', is investigated using results derived from questionnaires completed by a non-representative sample of participants. The analysis considers the structure of the holidays available and the specific determinants of this form of travel, together with the sociodemographic structure, motives an expectancies of the holiday makers.
