Infants' responses to adult static facial expressions

Abstract: Visual fixation and positive-negative behaviors of 36 4- to 9-month-old infants to happy, angry, and neutral faces were investigated by means of an infant-control habituation-recovery procedure. Infants visually discriminated the facial expressions, and their behaviors tended to vary according to the affective meaning of each one.
