Borrago officinalis in der Therapie der utopischen Dermatitis

Abstract: Gamma-Iinolenic acid (GLA) becomes more and more important in the treatment of atopic eczema. The oil of the seeds of borrago officinalis contains up to 25% GLA and is therefore suitable to supply this fatty acid in high doses. GLA leads to a reduction in clinical symptoms for 60-700/o of patients suffering from atopic eczema. As a supplementary therapy new externa with a high content of borage oil are available, consisting of a small number of components.
