Aus-, Weiter- und Fortbildung in den Naturheilverfahren

Abstract: Since 1993 naturopathy has been incorporated in the programme of studies of our medical universities and it is part of the examinations as well. After our physicians have got the lincence to practise medicine qualified associations, partially even the General Medical Councils of the individual Lands, charge themselves with the additional euducation in this field. The structure of these continued studies has been determined by the Federal Medical Council and at the end of those additional studies a further title is obtained. Thereafter the possibility of a professional training is offered covering some special medical fields and essentially based on the experience of medical practioners.During the last decades naturopathy, initially based on empiricism, in many cases has become a scientifically researched and accepted therapy such as nutrition therapy, hydrotherapy, kinesiology or phytotherapy. Further treatments were known or accepted such as the neural therapy by Huneke and the different forms of acupuncture. Future will show how far further therapies which are actually still based on experience bust suitable to be defined as naturopathy will develop to become accepted medical treatments. The basic condition for this will certainly be the proof of their efficiency and their harmless application as it is required by our modern medicine.
