Nursing and the arts

Abstract: Forty-six students at the correspondence course of the baccalaureate nursing education program at the College of Health, Pecs Medical University, Hungary were given the task of explaining the relationship between nursing and the arts. The majority of the students chose the visual arts (paintings) as their topic. The paintings analysed were connected to the development of nursing. Only few students turned to poetry, literature and music for subjects. The students' papers reveal their vision and opinion about their profession. (11 ref)
