Erfahrungen mit der Modulations-Elektro-Therapie (MET) in einer sportmedizinisch-chiropraktischen Praxis

Abstract: Dr. med. B. Wölfel Alsbach-Hähnlein Zusammenfassung Insgesamt zeigte die Modulations-Elektro-Therapie (MET) bei Patienten mit orthopädischen Erkrankungen gute bis sehr gute Effekte hinsichtlich der Linderung von Schmerzen. 3 Patienten mit Knochenmetastasierung sprechen auf das MET nicht an. Bei den Migränepatienten zeigte sich ebenfalls eine sehr gute bis gute Wirksamkeit die jedoch im Gegensatz zu den orthopädischen Krankheitsbildern nicht so lange anhielt. Insbesondere zeigte sich sehr gute Schmerzlinderung bei den Patienten die die Therapie 2mal täglich zu Hause selbst anwandten. Nach Erfahrung des Autors stellt die MET eine Bereicherung der derzeitigen Elektrotherapien dar. Die leichte Therapiehandhabung durch Praxispersonal und durch die Patienten zu Hause sowie die Mobilität gewährleisten eine problemlose Integration der Modulations-Elektro-Therapie im täglichen Praxisbetrieb. Diese Praxisstudie ist lediglich als Pilotstudie zu sehen der exakte statistisch abgesicherte Studien folgen sollten. Summary In patients with orthopaedic diseases the modulation electro-therapy (MET) showed in total good to very good effects with respect to the alleviation of pains. Three patients with metastases in the bones did not respond to the MET. In the patients suffering from sick headache the efficacy was Iikewise very good to good; however in contrast to the orthopaedic symptomatologies this efficacy did not continue for such a long period of time. The alleviation of pains was in particular very good in patients who applied the therapy by themselves twice a day at home. According to the author's experience the MET is a valuable addition to the present electrotherapies. The therapy can easily be handled by the staff of the medical practice as well as by the patients at home and the mobility guarantees an integration of the modulation electrotherapy without any problems into the every day's work of the medical practice. This study made in the medical practice has only to be considered a pilot study which should be followed by exact statistically assured studies.
