Therapieziel Autonomie- Erfahrungen aus der Psychotherapie mit Krebskranken und HIV-Patienten -

Abstract: The doctrine of contemporary psychosomatics is not completely uniform. On the other hand the idea that the autonomy of the patient is the aim of the therapeutic process finds general agreement. This paper reflects on the idea of autonomy itself and develops a therapeutic concept based on the experience with psychotherapeutic work with cancer and HIV-patients. The concept is built on three fundamentals: "the unfinished business", a concept of Gestalt-therapy, "the theory of complementarity by C. B. Bahnson" and "the theory of Shifted Physiology", developed from the author himself.Using a case history of a breast cancer-patient and the positive correlation between well-being and the T4/T8-ratio of a HIV-patient over three years, the hypothesis is corroborated.
