The Efficiency of Cytotoxic Sera with Patients Suffering from Hip Endoprosthesis

Abstract: Pre-operation treatment with a reticuloendothelium activating serum (R.A.S.) with 15 risk patients shortened the post-operation phase of healing by 20 percent in comparison to a placebo control group. Neither the laboratory results nor the immunological features showed any significant differences between the groups of treatment. Only skin reactions occurred more frequently under R.A.S. in contrast to placebo. But they could generally be controlled by dose reduction. The working mechanism of R.A.S. has to be clarified in further research projects.
