Abstract: This article explains the methods and goals of initiatic therapy - in particular that of guided drawing and body therapy. The significance of the transpersonal therapeutic approach is described by way of a discussing of what characterizes holistic therapy.A holistic perspective, in psychotherapy as well as in medical treatment, means not only an additive integration of somatic, psychological, social and political factors in treatment methods, it goes beyond this to require a change in one's conscious attitude - the purely rational way of seeing is to be transcended.This "integral view" demanded by the physician has a considerable effect an treatment. It implies a picture of mankind in which successful treatment of an illness is not defined as freedom from symptoms merely, but also includes a responsibility to realize inner impulses of a maturation process - an "inner path".
