Psychosomatic Aspects of Angina Pectoris

Abstract: Our studies have shown that there is no significant correlation between cases of angina pectoris and basic TCM concepts for this condition. Nitroglycerin was, however, found to be very clinically effective in patients with: "Qi and Blood stasis" TCM syndrome. Constitution may be a predisposing factor for the development of angina pectoris. High scores on the neuroticism indexes of the Eysenck test indicate a predisposition to cardiovascular spasms in patients with "Yang-emptiness and prevalence inner cold" and "Phlegm-dampness" syndromes.
