[The effect of acupuncture on the evoked potentials of the ventromedial hypothalamus during stimulation of the visceral and somatic nerves]

The responses of ventromedial hypothalamus' (VNH) population to stimulation of vagal, splanchnic and radial nerves (acupuncture) were studied in cats. The acupuncture increased the latency and changed the amplitude of EPs, particularly in stimulation of visceral afferents. In these conditions the characteristics of somato-visceral interaction in VMH were changed.
