Ginkgo biloba: Das Arzneimittelangebot aus pharmazeutischer Sicht

Hänsel München Zusammenfassung Nach wie vor bilden Anreicherung und Isolierung von Pflanzenstoffen neben der Synthese eine Quelle für neuartige Arzneistoffe. Die im Ginkgo-biloba-Blatt vorkommenden Ginkgolide sind selektive Inhibitoren PAF-induzierter Reaktionen der neutrophilen Granulozyten; die Ginkgolide eröffnen neue Möglichkeiten in der Behandlung entzündlicher Prozesse darunter vor allem der beim Asthmaanfall ablaufenden entzündlichen Reaktionen. Eine als EGb 761 bezeichnete Extraktfraktion wird seit zirka 25 Jahren als weitgehend nebenwirkungsarmes Nootropikum verwendet. Die nach Ablauf der Patente auf dem Markt existierenden Nachahmerprodukte sind zum Teil unterschiedlich in ihrer pharmazeutischen Qualität. Über die stofflichen Unterschiede der verschiedenen Ginkgopräparate Bescheid zu wissen ist eine Voraussetzung damit der Apotheker seiner Beratungsfunktion nachkommen kann. Summary Apart from the synthesis the increase in the concentration as well as the isolation of plant substances are now as before a source for new drugs. The ginkgolides that are present in the leaves of Ginkgo biloba are selective inhibitors of PAF-induced reactions of the neutrophile granulocytes; the ginkgolides provide new possibiIities in the treatment of inflammatory processes and among those above all the inflammatory reactions occurring together with the asthmatic attack. Since about 25 years a fraction of the extract named EGB 761 is used as nootropic drug that is largely free of side-effects. The pharmaceutical quality of the imitator products which are on the market after the expiration of the patients is in part quite different. To be acquainted with the material differences of the various Ginkgo preparations is a prerequisite for the pharmacist to comply with his function as adviser.
