Abstract: A. Ebeling Deisenhofen Zusammenfassung Umweltbedingte Erkrankungen zeichnen sich zumeist durch unspezifische Symptome aus denen ein kumulativ-toxisches Geschehen verschiedener Substanzen im Niedrigdosisbereich zugrunde liegt. Es erfolgt eine chronische Giftwirkung in Dosen die weit unter denjenigen liegen die eine akute Vergiftung auslösen würden. Unbekannte Giftinteraktionen erschweren das Aufstellen einer kausalen Wirkungskette. Der Expositionsstop stellt off die einzig wirksame Therapiemaßnahme dar dieser ist jedoch bei ubiquitär vorhandenen Umweltgiften oft nur durch politisches Handeln erreichbar. Daher ist kurzfristig die Vermeidung von Zusatzintoxikationen die in den Verantwortungsbereich des einzelnen fallen das Ziel. Als wesentliche Giftquellen sind hier der häusliche Wohnraum der das Sick-building-Syndrom hervorrufen kann zu nennen und das Amalgam das eine sowohl vermeidbare als auch durch Antidote therapierbare chronische Schwermetallvergiftung auslösen kann. Summary Diseases that are the result of the environmental contamination are mostly characterized by unspecific symptoms which are due to a cumulative-toxic process of various substances in the range of low doses. There is a chronic toxic effect in doses which are far below those that would cause an acute intoxication. Unknown toxic reactions render it difficult to reveal a chain of causal effects. Stopping the exposure is often the only effective therapeutical measure but in case of ubiquitous environmental poisons this can often only be achieved by political action. Therefore the aim is the short-term avoiding of additional intoxications which belongs to the responsibility of each single individual. Important sources of toxins are the living area at home that may cause the sick-building syndrome and the amalgam that may cause a chronic heavy metal poisoning which can both be avoided and treated by antidotes.
