Abstract: Describes the origins of psychosomatic identity. Possibilities for intervention are described which illuminate the musico therapeutic approach to psychosomatically ill children, proceeding from body work and passing through work with musical instruments as transitional or intermediate objects. By means of a case history it is shown how the process from impression to expression (a central motive in work with psychosomatic illnesses) can be displayed and made audible. (author)
