Abstract: Therapy of perennial rhinitis by acupuncture is becoming a more and more common procedure. The results of a group of 32 patients treated with acupuncture are compared to a placebo-treated group. Showing worse scores of symptoms up to the end of the third week the acupuncture treated group finally showed significantly better results after the sixth week of treatment. Different though still hypothetic regulations systems (receptors and transmitter substances) could be responsible for these different results.
