Akupunkturbehandlung der idiopathischen Trigeminusneuralgie

Abstract: 9 patients under observation from 1986 to 1989 were treated for idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia with acupuncture. Patients dealing with this disease have to cope with this for a few years dispite of other models of treatment. Short and long time success and patients comfort were observed. After six months it was found that 44% were healed, in 33% of the cases the symptoms improved and 22% remained unchanged. The final therapeutic improvement is noticed at the 10th session, but more often further treatments are necassary. The general well-being by acupuncture was fullfilled in 88% of the cases. Therfore it seems that this type of treatment for trigeminal neuralgia seems most feasible.
