Die homöopathischen Arzneiprüfungen von Martini (1936-1939) - Kritische Evaluation der Ergebnisse (Teil 1)

Abstract: Martini´s homoeopathic provings, conducted during the thirties, did not show any evidence in favour of homoeopathic effects. The original papers are analyzed. Although the placebo-control imployed has clearly been a step into the right direction, design and procedure of the studies are so different and uncompareable with each other, that no definite conclusion can be drawn. On the contrary, different groupings of the symptoms to clusters does show diffenence between the placebo and verum conditions, which proves significant by the Chi-Square test. This, however, can only be of heuristic value to show that the whole question of the effects of homoeopathic remedies remains open up to now and has to be investigated anew. Some hints afe given as to possible studies today.
