Die Geburt nach Akupunkturbehandlung in der Schwangerschaft

Abstract: The method to shorten the duration of labor is well known since a long time. In our study acupuncture therapy was performed weekly in 120 pregnant women from the 36th gestational week on up to begin of labor. The mean number of therapies was 4.27. 64% of the women were primiparae, 36% terminated their second labor. For the controlgroup an equivalent amount of patients were chosen, who terminated their pregnancy without acupuncture. We could show, that in the group of multiparae there was nearly no difference in duration of labor, but there could be seen a clearly difference in primiparae: a depending on acupuncture labor was 1,93 +/- 0,15 hours shorter than without therapy.
