Die Mistel aus der Sicht der anthroposophischen Medizin

Abstract: Using the mistletoe therapy it is tried today to build in the field of oncology a bridge between common medicine and so-called alternative medicine.Although the anthroposophically extended medicine does not consider itself to belong to the alternative methods, it is the origin of the mistletoe therapy for tumour diseases.Therefore some principles of this extended medicine are explained at the beginning, and the knowledge of these principles seems to be important for the discussion of the topic of mistletoe therapy and carcinoma. In addition to this the mistletoe is described in the course of the year. This shows the peculiarity of this medicinal plant, which is also present in the mythological reports about the mistletoe.Important statements about the mistletoe as a cancer therapeutic agent, as they have been made by R. Steiner, show, that the idea of the mistletoe as a remedy against cancer is more than a mere analogy as it has often been suggested.It is the pharmaceutical process leading into the right direction, that converts the mistletoe into a remedy. Also in this case results of a humanistic research are effective, and the process of transformation is especially mentioned. The transformation of the mistletoe in the tree into a remedy is the great merit of the anthroposophically extended medicine.
