Long-term Effects of the Health Resort Stay with High Blood Pressure and Cardiovascular Diseases

Abstract: An empirical study with over 300 patients suffering from high blood pressure and peripheral vascular diseases an the long-term effects of treatments at health resorts has shown that the clinical picture had improved significantly after the six-week stay at the health resort. However, this effect could only be kept up for a longer period of time if kinesitherapy was continued on an outpatient basis after the treatment. Otherwise the parameters measured soon again reached the initial levels that had existed before the stay at the health resort. Outpatient kinesitherapy carried through twice a week in many cases allowed a reduction or total discontinuation of the medicament treatment.
